Dr. Shaminder Singh, PhD, RN, is the Program Director of VOICE. He has professional training in nursing, health research, psychology, and yoga and lived in India and the US before moving to Canada in 2009. Dr. Singh is also an Assistant Professor at the Mount Royal University in the Faculty of Health, Community and Education, School of Nursing and Midwifery. In his doctoral research, he developed a grounded theory to reveal how South Asian older men manage their hypertension in a Canadian context. Dr. Singh co-leads a lifestyle modification program to promote hypertension self-management by providing personalized digital platforms-based dialogue-driven support to community members. He has served and currently volunteers in several research, teaching, and service opportunities.Â
