Ruksana Rashid is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of VOICE. Originally from Bangladesh, Ruksana settled in Calgary in 2011. Ruksana has a medical degree from Bangladesh and worked in the Bangladesh Army as an Armed Forces Medical doctor. Upon arrival to Canada, Ruksana completed a certified clinical research associate (CRA) course from McMaster University, obtained MSc in Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge and attended PhD coursework at the University of Calgary in Population and Public Health. Ruksana received multiple prestigious scholarships and awards at provincial and local levels. At present, Ruksana works as Clinical Research Coordinator at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Calgary. She has extensive experience in health research and her research interest involves immigrants’ health and resilience.

Ruksana is passionate about helping immigrants and refugees in their immigration journey and committed to supporting them. She is dedicated to growing the organization, VOICE and offering service to the immigrants with empathy and compassion.
